This website
This website consists of static pages. The hosting and a content delivery network process IP addresses and access logs in order to serve the pages, and a visit counter from statinside.com records page visits.
Pressing the download button records the time, your IP address, your browser user agent and the referral source, if there is one, so that downloads can be counted. After that the website redirects you to the installer.
Nothing else is asked from you. No account exists on this website, and the pages contain no form that collects personal details. The download record exists to count downloads. It does not identify you by name, because the website never asks for one.
The Segment Route app
Segment Route runs locally on your PC and sends no telemetry. Chats, working folders and API keys stay on the PC. No account is needed to run it, so you do not register anywhere.
Secrets in tool output are redacted before they reach the model. Prompts go only to the model endpoint that you pick, and what that endpoint does with them is governed by its operator. With a model running locally on your PC, nothing leaves the machine.
With a cloud model the situation is different: your prompt, including the text of any file the agent reads, goes to that provider. Choose the model with this in mind, and do not let the agent read files that you are not willing to send. Route files often contain internal host names, so check them before a cloud model sees them.
Optional features that use the network
Some features need the network and are optional. Web search can run over an anonymizing network if you choose that. http_get fetches a page when you ask the agent to read documentation or to request a page of your own service.
Control of chats from a phone browser uses one outbound connection, and you can switch it off. The app also checks for updates and shows an Update button when a new version is ready. The installer build enables auto-updates.
A cloud model is also a network feature, because the app has to reach its endpoint to send your prompt. A model running locally on your PC does not need that connection.
Your choices
You decide which model endpoint receives your prompts, and a local model keeps them on your PC. You decide whether web search, phone control and update checks are used. Ask first and Plan only give you a say before the agent changes anything.
You also decide what the agent may read. Keep the working folder small, keep secrets out of it where you can, and keep a backup of live configuration files. Use the agent only on servers and domains that you own or are authorised to administer.
If you want to check a download, compare its SHA-256 checksum with the published manifest. The installer is not code-signed yet, and the checksum is the way to confirm that the file is the original build.
Contact
Use the Send feedback button inside the app to send a question or a report about privacy. It is the support channel for Segment Route, and this website has no other contact form. If you are unsure whether a feature sends data, ask through Send feedback before you switch it on.
